Aldean hopes a Posty collab is in the cards for him
Post Malone’s debut country record will include features with Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Blake Shelton, and Morgan Wallen (and possibly more). One country singer who has high hopes for collaborating with Post Malone is Jason Aldean, who has often showcased his appreciation for the genre-bending superstar, even before his country project was announced.
During a recent interview with Audacy’s Dina B., Aldean further expressed his desire to work with Posty and even compared him to the likes of one of his current Rock the Country tour mates.
“I think you can go back and look at interviews I’ve done for years sayin’ that I’d love to do something with him,” the Georgia native pointed out. “I kind of compare him to Kid Rock in the sense of, he came from more of that Pop world and I think he’s authentic to Country.”
The “Let Your Boys Be Country” praised Post Malone’s appreciation for the genre. While dabbling in country music seems to be the popular thing to do at the moment (with artists like Beyoncé, MGK, and more showing interest in the genre), Aldean believes Posty’s love for country music runs deep.
“I think Country music fans see that and they understand that he actually is a fan and he does love this genre and I think they’ll accept him for that,” Aldean explained. “I think they’re already doin’ that. What he’s doin’ with bein’ involved in Nashville and the community and the music and everything here — I think Nashville will definitely accept him with open arms.”
Being welcomed into country music with open arms may be an understatement as Post Malone has already scored his very first No.1 at country radio with his smash hit “I Had Some Help” featuring Post Malone. It logged its third week atop the Billboard Country Airplay chart this week, tying Sam Hunt’s “Outskirts” for the longest run at No.1 on the chart so far this year.
Next up, Post Malone will bring his feel-good anthem, “Pour Me A Drink,” featuring Blake Shelton, to country radio. This song will officially impact country radio in the coming weeks and serves as the second release from his album, F-1 Trillion, which is set to release on August 16.
In September, the 9x diamond-certified artist will bring his country tunes on the road with the launch of his F-1 Trillion Tour, a 21-show run, including stadium, festival, and amphitheater dates around the U.S.
Kicking off on Sunday, September 8 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the tour will make stops around the country in cities such as Boston, New York, Atlanta, and more before wrapping up in Nashville at Nissan Stadium on Saturday, October 19.
“I love y’all so very much and I’m so excited to get out and play new music for you,” the GRAMMY-nominated superstar shared in a statement.
Meanwhile, Jason Aldean is in the midst of his Highway Desperado Tour. It’s unclear if Aldean will be featured on the upcoming Post Malone country album as the singer/songwriter has yet to release the track list is in its entirety.
