Supernatural star Jared Padalecki is officially in talks to join Eric Kripke’s The Boys for its final outing.
As per Deadline Hollywood, Padalecki is already talking with Kripke about which role he could play.
It’s expected that Padalecki could reunite with his Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles, as Kripke recently stated he’s hoping to cast as many of his Supernatural stars in the Prime Video series as possible.
“We have talked [about a role],” Padalecki confirmed.
He added: “As a matter of fact, we talked today.”
“I think at this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric and I are indelibly connected forever.”
Padalecki most recently starred in CW’s Walker series, which has now ended after being abruptly cancelled last month.
However, the closing of one door in Padalecki’s acting career just opens another, as he says he’s excited to reunite with Kripke and his Supernatural co-stars.
Jim Beaver, who played Bobby Singer in Supernatural, also stars in The Boys as… well, Bobby Singer.
“I mean, he created Supernatural. He created Sam Winchester. He created Ruby [Genevieve Padalecki], who I ended up marrying and starting a family with,” Padalecki said.
He added: “I adore him. I adore his humor. I adore him as a person, his storytelling.”
“So I can’t wait.”
He continued to confirm that he will be ready to ‘fly’ out as soon as Kripke calls him over for the fifth and final season of the show, “I don’t think [Season 5] films until next year, but I will be ready when he makes the phone call.”
“I’ll just say ‘Okay, when am I flying out?’”
All fans need now is Beaver’s The Boys character calling Ackles’ Soldier Boy and Padalecki a ‘pair of idjits’.
