The star is back with more action to offer.

There is nothing more exciting than seeing your favorite actor take on a new role. What’s even more exciting, however, is when their upcoming role perfectly matches your tastes and makes the anticipation of the release almost unbearable.

Jensen Ackles, who gained universal acclaim for his portrayal of Dean Winchester on The CW’s hit Supernatural and then landed the role of Soldier Boy in another Eric Kripke show, The Boys, has gained many fans who are eagerly awaiting the next step in his career. As it turns out, it will be just as thrilling.

Jensen Ackles’ New Prime Video Series

After Ackles’ character, Soldier Boy, became a huge fan favorite, many people were wondering what the actor’s next role would be. As it turns out, it’s going to hit close to home, as the show he’ll be starring in is also coming to Prime Video, and it promises to be just as action-packed.

The action thriller, titled Countdown, was created by Derek Haas, best known to cable viewers as the showrunner, writer and creator of FBI International and NBC’s popular OneChicago franchise. Turning to the streamer, Haas will bring forward the 13 episodes of another law enforcement-centric show.

Filled with unexpected twists and turns, as well as the action sequences, the show may become a perfect treat for all The Boys fans to binge in between the seasons.

“Following a suspicious murder in broad daylight, which leads to LAPD officer Mark Meachum being recruited to join a secret task force of undercover agents <…> But as the truth of a more sinister plot comes into focus, the team must overcome their conflicting personal agendas to unite and save a city of millions,” the logline reads.

At the moment there are not many details about the upcoming series, except for the number of episodes and the lead actor. Jensen Ackles will play Mark Meachum, but the rest of the cast is still unknown. The same goes for the shooting dates and the release date of the series which are kept under wraps.

If you are interested in giving Countdown a try as soon as it premieres, keep an eye out for more news and updates about the show. Until then, you can always re-watch The Boys season 3 on Amazon Prime Video to see Jensen Ackles in all his Soldier Boy glory.
