Williams will share the highs and lows of her illustrious career in the upcoming docuseries In The Arena: Serena Williams.
The eight-part series will explore ‘the pivotal moments in Serena’s life on and off the court,’ according to the TriBeCa Film Festival announcement prior to the show’s premiere in New York June 13.
The program will illustrate ‘the series of steps that when reflected upon, show the incredible distance traveled over the course of her career,’
‘I think it’s a good opportunity for people to see the other side,’ she told Style Culture TV.
‘I think most people see the grand slam wins and the holding up the trophy,’ she explained. ‘I want people to take away the appreciation of what happened before the trophy went up, and all the work and all the real memories of what was going on behind the scenes’ she explained.
‘I’ve had so many amazing memories,’ the Olympic gold medal winner stated.

The tennis great offered a small spoiler alert, revealing episode four of the show is ‘very emotional. It talks a lot about my comeback and a lot of things that I was going through behind the scenes.’
Williams retired from the court in September 2022, almost a year before giving birth to her daughter Adira, who was born in August 2023. She and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, 41, are also parents to Alexis Olympia, six.
In The Arena: Serena Williams debuts on ESPN+ July 10.
