Brittany Cartwright appeared to feel the tension as she and her estranged husband,  Jax Taylor, crossed paths publicly for the first time since she filed for divorce.

As they filmed the second season of their reality show, The Valley, Cartwright, 35, was seen wiping away tears while speaking with pal Kristen Doute in a far corner of the field.

The emotional conversation was captured on camera by a crew member as the mom-of-one dutifully showed up for work on Friday in Los Angeles.

The mom-of-one immediately began receiving support from her fellow castmates, which helped her move on and put on a brave face after reuniting with her ex.

At one point, the reality star was seen sharing a high five with one of her costars as she was encased in a large plastic roller.

Others were seen giving her hugs.

When she arrived on set, Cartwright initially exuded confidence as displayed her toned tummy in a gray bra top and black leggings.

Her long, chestnut locks were styled in to high pig tails, accessorized with red bandanas as ribbons.

She completed her look with a black and white plaid shirt tied around her waist and white sneakers.

Meanwhile, Taylor, 45, donned a blue and gray baseball shirt and black joggers.

The Jax’s Studio City owner wore gray sneakers and placed a blue billed cap backwards over his dark hair

Both Taylor and Cartwright seemed to try to keep their distance from each other during the activities.

This was the first time Cartwright, 35, and Taylor, 45, were seen together since he was served with divorce papers

Cartwright seemed game, getting into a clear plastic ball. She was seen sharing a high five with one of her castmates. Friends share hugs with the former waitress

Both estranged spouses were required to participate in  a group activity for their reality show. The scenes were shot at Pan Pacific Park in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles and not the San Fernando Valley, where the show is set

For her part, Cartwright, 35, seemed to exude confidence, wearing a pair of black leggings and showcasing her toned tummy with a gray bra top. She arrived on the set with a black and white plaid shirt tied around her waist and wearing white sneakers

The estranged spouses seemed to trying to maintain a distance from each other

Scheana Shay and her husband Brock Davies also joined the cast for a day of fun in the sun.

Shay and her spouse, along with Lala Kent, have become a part of the show after production on season 12 of Vanderpump Rules was put on hold for an undetermined amount as they navigate the fallout from the Scandoval.

In the latest episode of her podcast, Reality Hits, Cartwright opened up about why she decided to end her marriage of five years.

‘I unfortunately can’t speak on details because everything has been heavily documented on the show, since we happen to be filming right now. You will see how everything plays out once the show airs,’ she told her audience.

Cartwright denied she and Taylor were splitting up for ratings. ‘Many have said online they think this has been a publicity stunt for the show, or to garner ratings and it’s the furthest thing from that,’ she insisted

Cartwright seemed to enjoy support from her fellow castmates during this emotional time

‘But I will say this: this season has been the most difficult season I have ever had to film,’ she contended.

‘I never imagined I’d go through something so personal and painful while having the world watch,’ she said, her voice cracking with emotion.

‘I’m not saying this for anyone to feel badly, because I know that this is the life I chose and I’m so fortunate in many ways. But I will always want to be real with y’all,’ the Kentucky native relayed.

‘Many have said online they think this has been a publicity stunt for the show, or to garner ratings and it’s the furthest thing from that,’ she insisted.

Cartwright said the current season of The Valley ‘has been the most difficult season I have ever had to film. I never imagined I’d go through something so personal and painful while having the world watch’

The Kentucky native said she was motivated to stay strong for her and Taylor’s  son Cruz, three, ‘who deserves a happy and healthy mommy’

Fans may have to wait a while to see how everything plays out between the two. The Valley season two isn’t expected to debut until sometime in Spring of 2025

‘My decision to file wasn’t made lightly or quickly. It’s taken me many, many years to get to this point, where I’ve gained enough courage and strength to do what was best for me, get myself out of a toxic relationship and ultimately see my worth.’

She confessed: ‘It’s been very difficult, but I’m stronger than ever, and my motivation is my son, my Cruzie, who deserves a happy and healthy mommy,’ she said referring to her and Taylor’s three-year-old son.

Her remarks come after claims she was left with no other option but to file for divorce from after witnessing his obvious lack of respect for her while watching their relationship play out on the reality show.

Fans may have to wait a while to see that play out. The Valley season two isn’t expected to debut until sometime in spring of 2025.
