Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are longstanding friends, but they no longer spend time together. Insiders attribute this to Gomez’s lack of ‘want’ to be among Swift’s other companions.

Swift, 34, has a star-studded girl squad that includes Blake Lively, Lana Del Rey, Sophie Turner, Zoe Kravitz, Ice Spice, and Brittany Mahomes. However, Gomez, 32, is often absent when the group gets together in public.

Swift has been photographed with famous friends on multiple times during the demanding schedule of her continuing Eras global tour, but her connections with Selena have been considerably scarce, with the two last seen in January.

“Selena feels like she has matured out of Taylor’s circle of friends,” an insider exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com. ‘She has no desire to go out with Blake, Ice Spice, Brittany, or any of those girls.’

According to the insider, the 32-year-old star of Only Murders In The Building lacks the ‘desire’ to be around Swift’s other pals.

Back in February, Gomez wrote a sorrowful remark on a photo of Swift’s box during the Super Bowl, implying she was disappointed that she would miss out on group hangouts.

A Taylor fan page shared a snapshot on Instagram of Swift with friends Lively, Keleigh Sperry, Lana Del Rey, Ice Spice, and others.

In the comments, Gomez used a sad tearful emoji and a black heart emoji.

Fans were astonished to see that the Rare Beauty founder did not attend Swift’s Rhode Island party in August.

The source went on to say, “In many ways, she feels like an outsider now.”She is not a cheerleader and has never aspired to be.’

According to DailyMail.com, there has long been bad blood between Lively, 37, and Gomez, who are apparently not friends, don’t’mix’, and prefer to spend time apart from their popstar BFF.

Despite being long-time friends with Swift, the pair has never been photographed together.

When dozens of times were added up, including all of Taylor’s birthday bashes, Fourth of July parties, and New Year’s Eve celebrations, it became evident that Gomez and Lively had never attended such events together.

Gomez and Benny Blanco began dating in Summer 2023, while Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce started around the same time.

According to the insider, they are all focused on their work and relationships. Finally, they are glad for one other because they are both in love at the same moment.

Because the pair’s partners are unlikely to share much in common, Gomez and Swift aren’t making much of an attempt to reconcile via a double date.

‘They understand that double dates are out of the question since their guys would simply have nothing to talk about,’ the insider added.

Blanco revealed to SiriusXM that the group did not make an effort to meet up, despite meeting Swift at a restaurant just days before the interview.

Some fans have noticed that Gomez and Swift have not been spotted together in public since attending the 2024 Golden Globes in January.

Prior to that, the two had attended a comedy show together in December 2023, and Gomez had also made a rare appearance at a group dinner with Swift, Mahomes, Sophie Turner, Gigi Hadid, and Cara Delevingne a few weeks earlier.

‘Life, in a positive manner, is the reason Taylor and Selena don’t hang out as often anymore,’ they explained. Taylor is on the largest tour ever and is attempting to balance that with seeing Travis.

‘Selena is preoccupied with Only Murder in the Building and her friendship with Benny. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day for them to get into a groove.

According to the insider, the pair’s friendship remains strong despite the time gap between their hangouts. They can easily pick up where they left off if they were in the same room.

‘They will most likely meet one other again at awards events or if they happen to be in the same city and go out to dinner.’

A third person said, “They talk all the time, but they haven’t been in the same city at the same time in a while.”

For fans anticipating that the couple could reunite through their work, Gomez confessed that she is concerned that Swift will be too busy to make a cameo appearance on Only Murders In The Building, which has just been renewed for a fifth season.

In an interview with E! News, Gomez discussed the potential of having her buddy join her, Steve Martin, and Martin Short in the murder-mystery comedy.

‘She’s a little busy, you guys,’ she said, before the Pink Panther star quipped that Swift phones them ‘every day’ to want a role on the program.

When the reporter suggested that Swift could do something as easy as pass past the group on the street, Gomez said, ‘I love it.’
