“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” the Princess of Wales said in the clip
On Monday, September 9, Princess Kate Middleton shared a heartfelt video message, revealing that she has completed her chemotherapy treatment after announcing her cancer journey in March. The 42-year-old Princess of Wales appeared alongside her husband, Prince William, and their three children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
The touching footage, filmed by Will Warr last month at the family’s country home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, captures intimate moments of the Wales family. The montage begins with the family enjoying a walk outdoors and features Kate driving, along with solo shots of her, all underscored by a poignant message from the Princess. This candid glimpse into their lives highlights the strength and support of family during challenging times.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” the Princess of Wales began. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”

“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything,” she continued.
“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”
The three-minute clip offers a delightful look into the Wales family’s life, showcasing intimate moments between Prince William and Princess Kate as they sit closely together and share laughter. Viewers are treated to scenes of the royal mom joyfully pushing her youngest son, Prince Louis, on a swing, while Prince George and Princess Charlotte get up close to the camera, radiating playful energy.
The video also features the family enjoying card games with Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, followed by a cozy picnic on a blanket where the Prince and Princess of Wales continue the fun with their kids.
In a series of tender moments, William and Kate are seen lying together on the beach, sharing laughter, and even a sweet kiss on the cheek. The clip includes charming cameos from their dog, Orla, and playful scenes of Princess Charlotte and Kate leaping onto a hay bale, while Prince George and Louis splash joyfully in the ocean. This heartwarming glimpse into their family life captures the essence of love, joy, and togetherness.
“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” Princess Kate said in the message. “I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
“Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life,” she continued. “William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling.”
“To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey, I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness can come light, so let that light shine bright,” she said in closing.
The update comes nearly six months after the Princess of Wales announced that she was receiving cancer treatment in March. In January, Princess Kate underwent a planned abdominal surgery, and two months later shared the news that she had been diagnosed with cancer in a pre-recorded video released on March 22. In June, the Princess of Wales said she was “making good progress” in a statement released ahead of her first official public appearance of 2024 the next day.
She has so far made two official appearances this year, both over the summer — Trooping the Colour on June 15 and the Wimbledon Tennis Championships on July 14.
