Minnesota Governor Tim Walz made headlines during a campaign rally in Wisconsin on Saturday by cleverly referencing one of Taylor Swift’s songs while taking a swipe at GOP nominee and former President Donald Trump.
“It’s really great to have all of these women help us beat the smallest man in the world, Donald Trump,” Walz quipped, alluding to Swift’s track “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” from her album The Tortured Poets Department.
Walz honored several women, including his wife, Gwen, and Senators Tammy Baldwin and Amy Klobuchar, before sharing a “life hack for all the guys” in the audience: “Surround yourself with smart women and listen to ’em, and you’ll do just fine. That includes my fellow cat owner, Taylor Swift, too!”
The crowd erupted in applause as Walz displayed a friendship bracelet, expressing his appreciation for Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris following the recent debate. Swift, known for her three cats, encouraged her fans to register to vote, signing off her post as “Childless Cat Lady.”
