After Kamala Harris and Donald Trump’s recent debate on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, Taylor Swift took to Instagram to endorse Harris. This eventually gave rise to speculation claiming that Coca-Cola had ended its long-term partnership with the pop star after this post.
A post had been uploaded by SpaceX Fanclub on their official Facebook page, on September 15, 2024. The caption of the post read:
“Coca-Cola Ends Long-Term Partnership with Taylor Swift: ‘We don’t support her endorsement.'”
Since the post had created widespread confusion amongst netizens, it needs to be noted that the post is satirical in nature, which has been confirmed by SpaceX Fanclub writing “This is a satire post”. Hence, the rumors are fake and can be debunked.
The bio of SpaceX Fanclub’s Facebook page read:
“We post SATTIRE, nothing on this page is real.”

While the post was satirical in the first place, it grabbed massive attention from netizens. As of this writing, it has received about 684 comments and 1.4k likes.
Taylor Swift shared a post on Instagram a few days ago, on her feed, endorsing Harris. She wrote:
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election…”
She further described Harris as a “steady-handed and gifted leader.”
Coca-Cola did not end their partnership with popstar Taylor Swift
Apart from the Facebook post by SpaceX Fanclub, a full-fledged article on the rumor has been penned by Esspots. In the article, it was claimed that Coca-Cola ended its partnership with Taylor Swift, primarily due to her political inclinations. It further read:
“What was once a harmonious relationship between America’s favorite soft drink and America’s sweetheart has now gone flat…”
However, as aforementioned, the rumors are fake and must be debunked. No such actions had been taken by the brand which came into a partnership with Taylor back in 2013. The “About Us” page of the website mentioned that they are famous for reporting satirical news. It further read:
“Our team of writers and editors is dedicated to bringing you the latest and greatest in fake news and absurdity, all with a healthy dose of humor and satire…”
Hence, it could be concluded that the post claiming that the partnership had ended, was supposed to be taken in a humorous manner.
According to a press release dated back in January 2013, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter,
“[The singer will] serve as a program ambassador for several Diet Coke initiatives and will be integrated into all key marketing efforts for the brand — including advertising, retail activation, experiential and more.”
Taylor Swift announced this partnership on her YouTube channel in January 2013. The pop star was a sponsor for the brand until 2019, when Coca-Cola reportedly donated money to candidates who had been advocating for illegalizing abortion.
The Presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump was a much-awaited event. In the end, Harris had even challenged the former President for another debate before the elections happen in November.
