Serena Williams Shines at the 2024 Met Gala in a Stunning Balenciaga Gown

Serena Williams brought her fashion A-game to the star-studded 2024 Met Gala, held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

 

The 42-year-old retired tennis superstar dazzled in a metallic gold gown by Balenciaga. The one-shoulder dress featured a sash that flowed into a dramatic train.

 

She paired this glamorous look with black opera-length gloves, sheer black tights, and matching heels.

 

To complete her outfit, the mother of two wore a golden floral accessory in her hair, rings over her gloves for added sparkle, and an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch, perfectly aligning with the “Garden of Time” dress code.

 

The dress was inspired by the fashion house’s couture collection showcased in 2022. According to Vogue, the atelier dedicated 150 hours to pattern-making and crafted this couture piece from 25 meters of gold foil-laminated taffeta sourced from Italy.

‘It’s truly been an honor to collaborate with the talented Balenciaga team on such a memorable and glamorous piece,’ she told the publication.

The tennis champion also shared a clip of herself getting her makeup done ahead of the gala via her Instagram Stories.

 

Also present at this year’s gala was Serena’s sister Venus Williams, 43, who looked equally as stunning in a mirrored Marc Jacobs gown.

 

The sparkling sister duo happily posed for snaps together during fashion’s biggest night.

 

Last year Serena surprised her fans when she revealed a 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢 bump at the Met Gala.
