Meghan Markle’s family were left outraged after Prince Harry suggested that the royals were ‘the family she never had’ – but her stepmom has a different take on the situation

Meghan Markle’s stepmom has shed light on the reasons behind the Duchess’s estrangement from certain family members, citing “distance” as a key factor. The family drama intensified after Prince Harry described the Royal Family as “the family she never had” during an interview with BBC Radio 4.

In response, Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., criticized the comment, asserting that she “had a really good family” and “got everything she ever wanted.” Meghan’s stepmom elaborated, explaining that after graduating high school, Meghan attended Northwestern University in Illinois, then worked in Argentina before launching her acting career with Suits. She noted that as everyone got busy, the geographical distance contributed to the family’s disconnection.

In an interview with Radar Online, Roslyn Markle defended Meghan, stating that she didn’t “shut out” her family but admitted to not communicating much with her estranged sister, Samantha Markle. However, Samantha quickly dismissed Roslyn’s remarks on social media, claiming she has no real connection to Meghan.

In a series of fiery tweets, Samantha asserted, “FYI I read online that Roslyn Markle was Meghan’s stepmom LOL. My dad divorced Roslyn in ’74… she remarried… no relation to Meg ever and she knows nothing about our lives or Meghan!” She further stated, “Roslyn only knows Meg from what she has studied about her in the media LOL.”

Meanwhile, a source told OK! Magazine that Meghan reportedly “wants her old life back” and feels “frustrated” that Harry is “wasting his own life.”

She left her life in Toronto after getting engaged to the Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍. However, according to the source, Meghan has discovered the hard way that being a Duchess isn’t all it’s made out to be.

The source claimed: “Meghan has made no secret of how much she misses her care-free life when she was an actress and while she’d never change what she has with Harry and the kids, there is a big part of her that she wishes she could just get her old life back. She loved being in Suits and all the opportunities it gave her, she’d get invited to all the exclusive events and get to hang out with Hollywood A-listers but there was so much less scrutiny and attention and there was no pressure on her.”
