Priyanka Chopra recently discussed her marriage in Jodhpur during a chat show, sharing insights into her decision to select India as her wedding destination rather than opting for an international location.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s stunning wedding at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur remains one of the most talked-about events of 2018, with radiant photos still captivating fans online.
During her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show, Priyanka was asked if she had always envisioned an Indian wedding. She fondly recalled how handsome Nick looked in a turban.
Priyanka revealed that she initially dreamed of a big wedding on a private island, but it was Nick who suggested getting married in India. “I wanted to get married at a private island away from everything. We were stressed about logistics—Seychelles, Maldives, Mauritius—nothing was working out. Then, when Nick was in Mumbai, he said, ‘Why aren’t we doing this in India? Shouldn’t I be taking my bride from her home?’ When he said that, I realized it became a thing in India,” she explained.
Priyanka and Nick kept their wedding an intimate affair with only family and close friends in attendance. In another interview, the Baywatch actress said,”Usually Indian weddings have like a thousand people, we had only 200 which was mostly family. Both of us have giant families.” She said that they did not invite too many guests becayse they wanted to keep it an intimate affair. “We wanted to keep it just about family,” added Priyanka.
She also added that her private wedding made her mom very upset as she could not invite everyone to her daughter’s wedding. “My mother was so upset with me the whole time. She was like I need to have another party for the 150,000 people I know. How can I not invite my jeweller, how can I not invite my hairdresser? This was the conversation,” said Priyanka.
