Fans of Taylor Swift think that on National Boyfriend Day, she somewhat subtly acknowledged her boyfriend Travis Kelce. The pop singer debuted her “Greatest In the League” merchandise line on Thursday. The line was taken from her song “The Alchemy,” which is said to be about her relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs player.
The aforementioned collection consists of multiple sweatshirt and sweatpant styles adorned with her “Tortured Poets Department” emblem, all in the album’s color scheme of gray, black, white, and beige. Fans immediately connected the dots as Taylor Nation revealed the drop on X.
Fans think Taylor Swift gave a shout-out to Travis Kelce on National Boyfriend Day.
Swift dropped her “Greatest In the League” merchandise collection on Thursday.
“Taylor Swift chose to release ‘The Greatest in the League’ merch collection today, on National Boyfriend Day,” one user pointed out.
“Literally only Taylor would release a ‘greatest in the league’ collection on National BF day when her BF’s team is 4-0 currently,” another person tweeted.
“taylor releasing a the greatest in the league merch collection on national boyfriend’s [sic] day and the weekend of her boyf’s birthday??? oh taycomedian,” a third chimed in.
“and calling it ‘the greatest in the league collection’ after the ‘he’s washed’ allegations she’s the funniest person ever in fact,” someone else added, referencing the backlash over Kelce’s slow start of the 2024 NFL season.
The collection is made up of neutral sweat sets.
The song “The Alchemy,” which she purports to be about her relationship with Kelce, is where the collection gets its name. Some, however, asserted that Swift was “shutting down breakup rumors” by releasing the merchandise.
When Swift missed Kelce’s previous two football games, which were played in Atlanta and Los Angeles, respectively, people started to wonder if the two were dating. Given that she had been to Arrowhead Stadium for Kelce’s first two games of the season, there were questions raised by her absence.
The couple began dating last summer.
While Swift has attended most of Kelce’s games since they began dating, she missed his last two.
However, insiders later told Page Six that Swift’s no-show wasn’t a sign of trouble in paradise.
A source told us the “Fortnight” singer’s schedule has ramped up over the last couple of weeks as she prepares the restart of her Eras Tour, which kicks off again on October 18 in Miami.
Swift closed the European leg of her international tour in August.
We’re also told there were some safety concerns about Swift attending Kelce’s games in the opposing teams’ stadiums — especially after her shows in Vienna were canceled due to a terrorist threat.
However, sources told Page Six her absence was due to her busy schedule and safety concerns — not relationship issues.
Kelce’s birthday is this weekend, and Swift is rumored to be in Kansas City for the celebrations.
If she is going to a place that isn’t Arrowhead, there are security concerns,” a source told us.
“She has worked with Arrowhead so many times, they feel at ease and comfortable. Going to all kinds of different stadiums, you need to send a team in advance.”
However, Swift, who began dating Kelce last summer, is rumored to be back in Missouri this weekend for the tight end’s 35th birthday and Monday night football game.
