Benzino has reacted to the news that Eminem is about to become a grandfather — but not in the way many would have expected.
Em himself revealed the news on Thursday (October 3) in his “Temporary” music video, in which his daughter Hailie Jade surprises him with a custom Detroit Lions jersey which has “Grandpa #1” on the back.
She then shows him a sonogram of her unborn 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢, prompting a visibly emotional reaction from the rap legend.
Among those who have weighed in on the news is Em’s old foe Benzino, who had a surprising reaction.
Despite their heated feud which has lasted over 20 years, the former Source magazine boss only had kind words for his long-running rival.
“Somebody found out that they’re going to be a grandfather and the irony is… even though he said, ‘Nobody wants to hear their grandfather rap,’ I still wanna send out a congratulations to Eminem and his daughter Hailie on the news that she is about to give birth and he’s about to be a grandad,” Benzino said on Instagram Live.
“I think this is a good time to put this behind us and let’s try to enjoy life and try to make some type of statement right now. I’m not doing this for no joke; I truly want to congratulate him and his daughter.
“I’m not one yet but I’m sure that day will come and I’ll be proud just like he is. With all the craziness that’s going on, we need some peace, we need a statement so we can move forward. There it is.”
He added: “Congratulations to Eminem and Hailie, and let me know what the 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢’s gonna be ’cause I definitely will send a gift for the 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢 shower, man. I’m sure you’ll make a great grandfather. Love, bro.”

Benzino’s surprise olive branch is a sharp 180 from how things were between the two men earlier this year when their beef reignited thanks to Eminem’s “Doomsday Pt. 2.”
Over a sample of his classic hit “Role Model,” the Detroit native mocked Zino’s financial woes and physical stature while alluding to his alleged 𝓈ℯ𝓍ual orientation.
“Arm so short he can’t even touch his hands / When they’re up above his head doin’ jumpin’ jacks / Sorry, I don’t mean to upset you, Ben / When I talk about all the debt you in / I hear that you been creepin’ on the low / In them cheap hotels, that they catch you in,” he rapped.
Benzino fired back with two diss songs, “Vulturius” and “Rap Elvis,” but later cried while admitting he had “nothing against” Em during a widely-mocked appearance on Drink Champs.
