Get Ready To Pick A Side — Here’s What We Know About The New Kendrick Lamar And Drake Documentary About Their Beef
Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef was the talk of the summer, and now we’ll get to dive deeper into what started it all with this upcoming tell-all documentary.
Deemed Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake, the documentary will feature archives and interviews with people who have known and worked with the rappers, to add insight behind the “how” and “why” of their beef.
It was produced by Acme Films and GroupM Motion Entertainment and is set to debut on Channel 4 in the UK. They’re looking to examine the artistry and persona the two created to cement themselves as pillars in hip-hop.
“Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake is not just a biography; it’s a cultural exploration of two of the most influential voices in modern music,” said Shaminder Nahal, Head of Specialist Factual for Channel 4, per HypeBeast. “This documentary will delve into the unique journeys of Kendrick and Drake, examining how their backgrounds, talents, and visions have made them global icons.”
“It’s only a few years since our previous Public Enemies film for Channel 4 explored the rivalry between Jay-Z vs Kanye, but Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake feels like a story that takes place in a time when all the rules have changed, and beef is all around us.”
And, of course, they’ll dive into the diss tracks that took mainstream radio stations by storm this year, including Kendrick’s “Not Like Us,” which contained some wicked allegations and accused Drake of disrespecting both rap and Black culture. The former child actor later refuted the claims in his song “The Heart Part 6.”
