Ryan Reynolds takes a chilly turn in Aviation Gin’s latest commercial paying homage to the new viral Christmas move ‘Hot Frosty’
Ryan Reynolds is trading in his Marvel suit for a sub-zero look.
Aviation Gin’s co-owner got in on the freezing fun paying homage to the new holiday movie Hot Frosty in a commercial for the liquor.
“The holidays can be a lonely time for an inanimate snowman,” a voiceover from the Deadpool & Wolverine star begins, panning over a naked, ripped snowman that looks suspiciously like Reynolds. A sad-looking woman approaches the statue and the voiceover adds, “Oh, I guess it can be lonely for people, too.”
Inspirational holiday music gets louder in the background as the woman takes off her scarf and reaches over as if to put it on the snowman’s shoulders.
The Proposal actor continues, “But isn’t it also the season of hope? Season miracle —” and interrupts his sentence with a scream as the woman uses the scarf to cover her hands and yank the bottle of gin out of the snowman’s grip, taking off his frozen hand in the process. She then sneaks off with the bottle as the snowman continues to yell and curse.
“The season’s hottest gift. The season’s frostiest cocktails,” a message reads at the end of the clip.
The advertisement is a cheeky twist on the new Netflix rom-com — which features a hunky snowman brought to life.
In the now-viral flick, Kathy (Lacey Chabert) is a down-on-her-luck widow who meets a well-chiseled guy (played by Schitt’s Creek‘s Dustin Milligan) claiming to be a snowman who’s come to life.
The movie, which stars Craig Robinson, Lauren Holly, Joe Lo Truglio. Katy Mixon and Chrishell Stause, began streaming on Netflix earlier this month.

Reynolds recently announced another alcohol venture with pal and co-owner of a Welsh soccer team, Rob McElhenney.
On Oct. 30, PEOPLE shared Reynolds and McElhenney’s video announcement that they are the new co-owners of Wrexham Lager Beer Co Ltd.
In the video, the actors use 1882 technology to convey how the drink leaves them “literally speechless,” as an homage to how the beer has been brewing in Wales since that same year.
The venture comes nearly four years after the actors entered their bid for Wrexham AFC in 2020 and finalized the purchase in February 2021.
