It’s true that season 6 of Love Island USA is officially returning. Sarah Hyland is no longer presenting the beloved reality series, as you may have noticed as you curled up on your couch with your favorite bottle of wine and a warm blanket to watch the season premiere. Ariana Madix, a busy and scheduled reality TV celebrity, has taken over as Love Island USA’s host instead.
We are infatuated with the Vanderpump Rules star when she revealed an incredible glimpse of her ultra-glowy glam and dripping gold gown from the first episode. Take a look at the content (which is accompanied by Tyla’s “Jump,” a cover song for Cosmo):
So, why is Ariana the new host of Love Island USA, you ask? After hosting two seasons of the series, Sarah revealed she had a scheduling conflict due to another project she was working on.
“Well, just got a text 😂. I’m disappointed the news had to break this way but it is in fact true that I will not be returning to the island this summer,” the Modern Family alum wrote on her Instagram Stories in March. “I have committed to an exciting project, that will be announced soon, that conflicts directly with the shooting dates for Love Island USA.”
“While I’m sad I can’t return, I hope to see lots of love this summer on Peacock this upcoming season!” she continued.
In May, Ariana dropped a teaser of her new hosting gig on Instagram, where one fan criticized her and wrote, “You’re no Maya [Jama].”
“That’s obvious, dear,” Ariana wrote back, per Us Weekly. “I could never be nor am i trying to be the queen that is maya jama. and guess what? it would be weird if i did. i am me and i am going to bring my best self to my dream hosting job doing what i do best: BE MYSELF. have a good day.”
A new bombshell has entered the villa—no, it’s not the Vanderpump Villa—and she said what she said!
