Paris 2024 Disgrace: Nigerian Boxer EXPELLED from France After Controversial Suspension!

Cynthia was removed from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Village after a positive drug test.

The Nigeria Olympic Committee has disclosed that Nigerian boxer Cynthia Ogunsemilore was unable to prove her innocence after becoming involved in a doping scandal.

Pulse Sports reported that Cynthia was expelled from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Village following a positive doping test.

The International Testing Agency reported that Ogunsemilore tested positive for the banned diuretic, furosemide, in an out-of-competition test conducted earlier this month.

Tony Nezianya, Nigeria Olympic Committee’s Media Officer, confirmed the boxer’s withdrawal from the Games Village.

“She departed the Games Village yesterday, Tuesday. She will return to Nigeria, and she must leave France,” Nezianya told PUNCH.

Nezianya also revealed that Ogunsemilore’s Olympic credentials, including her accreditation tag and a Samsung phone, have been returned to the International Olympic Committee.

When confronted with Ogunsemilore’s claims of a wrongful test, Nezianya insisted that the boxer had signed the results, indicating her consent to the procedures.

“Those testimonies should have been given to the IOC, and she did not tender it there. It is when they are caught that they start blaming procedures,” he stated.

Ogunsemilore had been scheduled to face Taiwan’s Wu Shih Yi in the round of 16, but her suspension resulted in a default victory for her opponent.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport’s Anti-Doping Division upheld Ogunsemilore’s provisional suspension on July 28th, effectively ending her Olympic campaign.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games bronze medalist and African Games champion now faces the consequences of her doping violation.
