Summary of Gen V: What You Should Know Before The Boys Season 4

The Boys season 4 is finally out, so here’s a comprehensive summary of Generation V, including everything you need to know from the season finale.

Gen V season 1 is the first live-action spinoff of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys, and while the show focuses on an original tale with new characters, it has a strong connection to The Boys. Gen V sets up The Boys season 4 in a number of significant ways, as detailed below.

Gen V took a fresh look at Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys, focusing on a blood bender called Marie Moreau as she began attending Godolkin University, a prominent Vought-run institution for superhumans. During her tenure at the academy, she discovers a gigantic Vought plot that will have far-reaching consequences for the planet. since it turns out, it also has consequences for The Boys season 4, since these ten tales set the stage for the new season.

Victoria Neuman’s True Power is Blood Bending.

She’s even more powerful in season four.

Although Homelander is the overarching villain of The Boys universe, Victoria Neuman is being set up as the main antagonist of The Boys season 4, with Gen V featuring the character several times. Throughout her time in the show, it is made clear that Neuman is campaigning for the vice presidency, with her appearing at Godolkin University as part of the campaign.

While at Godolkin, Neuman meets the Gen V protagonist Marie Moreau. Gen V establishes that Marie’s power is to control blood in episode 1, but Gen V also retcons Victoria Neuman’s powers by revealing that she also possesses this ability. While she had previously only been seen popping heads, it is revealed that she does this through manipulating the blood of individuals, giving her all-new abilities that could be seen in The Boys season 4.

Vought Was Secretly Working On A Supe-Killing Virus

It Will Be A Huge Part Of Season 4

Throughout Generation V, Marie and the gang uncover a major conspiracy at Godolkin, linked to the school’s corporate owner, Vought International. The characters uncover Godolkin University’s The Woods, a secret underground laboratory where Vought experiments on superhumans like Sam.

The Woods’ function is initially unknown to most of Gen V, but it is later revealed to be utilized to create a virus capable of infecting Supers. Originally, Vought intended to use the virus to transform supes into mindless zombies under their control. However, Dean Shetty covertly modified the virus to be capable of 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ing supes. The terrible supe virus may infect practically any supe, and every character in The Boys is striving to get it.

Godolkin Dean Shetty Was Killed At The End Of Gen V

Her Death Changes Everything

Dean Shetty, Dean of Godolkin University, was a key antagonist in Generation V. Her dubious past and connection to Homelander’s narrative from “The Boys” season 1 were gradually disclosed during the show, causing viewers to believe that she was working against Vought. Shetty was aiming to murder supes like Homelander using a virus, as part of her greater plot.

Homelander and Ashley were at the Godolkin University Riot.

They know what actually happened.

At the end of Gen V, a massive riot takes place at Godolkin University, with the former prisoners of the Woods joining other supe supremacists as they massacre unfortunate souls who happen to be at Godolkin. Marie and some of the other supes attempt to fight back, trying to put a stop to Cate and Sam’s army of supes. Meanwhile, Ashley Barrett just happens to be on campus, with her discussing future members of The Seven before her life is endangered by the riot.

Vought Has Framed The Guardians For The Riots (& Claim That Cate & Sam Are The Heroes)

Vought Has Covered The Riots Up

Due to the mass death and destruction of the Godolkin University riots, a lot of eyes were on the school. Vought obviously didn’t want the world to know what really happened, as it would involve revealing details of the classified experiments at The Woods. Instead, Vought spins the situation into a web of lies, claiming that Marie and the Guardians of Godolkin are the ones behind the riots.

Cate & Sam Were Recruited By Vought – What Their Powers Are

They May Join The Seven

After the events of the Gen V season 1 finale, Vought knew that they had to do something about Cate and Sam. Since Cate and Sam were framed as the heroes of the riots at Godolkin University, Vought decided to take a drastic step and recruit the duo, with them being potential candidates for membership in The Seven in The Boys season 4.

Both Cate and Sam are incredibly powerful, and here is what they can do. Cate Dunlap is a powerful telepath who is able to control the minds of people who she comes into contact with. Throughout Gen V, Cate takes power-suppressing pills, meaning that the full extent of her abilities may still not be known. Sam Riordan’s powers are a bit more mysterious. It is known that he has superhuman strength and durability, although it isn’t known if the psychological effects seen throughout the show have anything to do with his powers.

Although nothing has been confirmed, it is possible that Tek Knight could reappear in The Boys season 4 after his Gen V debut. It would make sense to bring the important character back after his small role in Gen V, so it is good to remember that the spinoff saw Dean Shetty get blackmail on Tek Knight. Now that Shetty is dead, however, Tek Knight has nothing holding him back from his Gen V plans and his further appearance in The Boys season 4.
