Kate Middleton honored by King Charles for taking on ‘more responsibilities,’ loyal service to the Crown

A job well done.

Kate Middleton has been given a special honor by King Charles in recognition of her “taking on more responsibilities.”

On Tuesday, the 75-year-old monarch bestowed a special honor upon his daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales, for her hard work over the years and her loyal service to the Crown.

Kate Middleton has been given a special honor by King Charles in recognition of her “taking on more responsibilities.”

The title, the Royal Companion of The Order of the Companions of Honour, is the first to be given to a member of the royal family in its century-long history.

The gesture will no doubt come as a welcome surprise to the princess, especially given the difficult start to the year she’s faced following her abdominal surgery and subsequent cancer diagnosis.

The beloved royal is in the thick of her cancer treatment. In March, she revealed that she’s undergoing chemotherapy.

Middleton, 42, is now one of a select few who hold the prestigious title, joining exclusive names like J.K. Rowling, Dame Judi Dench and Sir Elton John.

The title was founded by King George V in 1917, and was created to recognize outstanding achievements in the arts, sciences and public service.

The mom of three, who is patron of the Royal Photographic Society and the National Portrait Gallery, was also applauded for her continuous contributions to and support of the arts.

Middleton, like much of the royal family, was forced to take on more workload following the abrupt departure of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who quit the royal fold in 2020.

Since stepping down as senior working members of the Firm and hightailing it across the pond, the Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 has renounced his British residency.

Middleton was not the only royal to receive an award Tuesday.

Middleton’s husband and heir to the throne Prince William was appointed the Great Master of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath — a title his own father held during his time as Prince of Wales.

The honor, established by King George I in 1725, is awarded to only a select few members of the military or civil service.

Elsewhere, Charles’ wife, Queen Camilla, was also the recipient of a prestigious honor.

Camilla was made a Grand Master and First or Principal Dame Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

The long — and flashy — title is a traditional appointment for the spouse of the monarch, having previously belonged to Prince Philip, who was handed the honor by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Prior to Philip, Queen Mary was given the title by her husband, King George V, during his time as the Prince of Wales.

The Order of the British Empire was founded in 1917 by George V, and honors outstanding contribution to society, both military and civilian.
